Moderate: These trips involve hiking 4 - 5 hours a day, at altitudes under 13,000 feet, and could include uneven surfaces, steep stone steps, and brief periods of exposure to steep hillside grades.  They also include camping in a tent at night and potentially variable weather.   You can choose your own pace and do not have to keep up with a group.

Challenging: You will experience more rugged, steep terrain on these trips, with altitudes up to 14,000 feet (see individual itineraries for details).  Expect to hike 6-8 hours each day. Camping in a tent each night is part of the itinerary and weather conditions can vary from hot to below freezing.   Again, you can choose your own pace to make yourself the most comfortable.
